How many of us have said this before, “I’ll do anything for my family.”
I definitely have.
But there is an irony to this.
There was a time that I worked so hard for my family that I almost lost my life with them.
When I first became a Dad…
I felt it was my job as a parent to work harder, faster, and bigger than ever before…
“For my family”
I spent countless hours working the corporate job and…
I could justify it ALL so easily.
… the missed dinners.
… the missed games.
… the time away from home and the FaceTime good nights.
… the living of separate lives between my wife and I.
It was ALL because, “i’ll do anything for my family.”
But here’s the thing…
Regardless of how much you make for a living.
Nothing will replace the time you lose in your life with your family.
I realized that time together, laughing was all my wife really wanted.
I realized my kids needed me more than the latest ipad.
I realized I needed them more than the millions in front of me.
I’m so grateful that I realized this before I met with more regret in my life.
I’m so grateful that I can make a living and a life with my family.
I’m so grateful that I am back in control of our future together.
Having left the corporate world years ago now and running my own consulting business from home…
I’m able to be there for my family in those subtle moments in life that will make all the difference.
“I will do anything for my family… together. ”
